keyas first flight...

"bonjour. i am zi president of zi plane. i have been given zi wings for zi flight. please take your seats so i can rule zi ship. merci"

HOLY CHEEKS

sleepy baby. long heavy sleepy baby.

mom and babe. both tired after a long night flight where babe did not sleep.

keyas first flights to and from seattle were a success. jake and i were really stressed out about how she would handle it, whether she would cry the entire time, etc etc. she was really good aside from the fact that she barely slept. she was very smily and giggly and it was really cute. she even earned her first set of wings from the captain and flight attendents. little dumbo. lessons i learned from flying with an infantino:
1) dont put the kid in a sleeper. layer them up because it gets RULL HOT on planes these days.
2) take a lot of formula and water if you dont nurse. like...A LOT. i didnt realize that the flights can be dehydrating for the kid, keya drank like 8 extra oz's just on the plane alone - i kept worrying that she was gonna puke but she was fine...just very thirsty.
3) stand in the back of the plane before take off until you have to sit down. that way you can befriend the flight attendants AND not waste any more time sitting down for the long flight. it was a good place to stand with her so she could fall assleep before takeoff and landing prior to sitting down too bc i could rock her.
4) take a couple small pillows. 14+lbs & over 2 foot tall infant = very uncomfortable.
5) and of course, the old "feed a couple oz during takeoff and landing to clear the ears". keya didnt cry at all on the flight so im assuming this worked.
