-BIG shocker, nurr maushi decided to weep uncontrollably 9345 times during her visit. kbo wasnt even awake during this cry.

when my sister was born, i was super jealous and used to always say "neha thinks shes famous, but shes not" because all the attention was on her and not on me (its still like that, sigh). well, now all the attention is on keya and she has 93085409 visitors coming from all over to see her. she is so lucky. she got to meet a ton of people over the last couple weeks. right before thanksgiving, she got to meet uncle andy and aunt marcia who grew up in the milwaukee area - we always have so much fun with them. then my best guy friends in the world saggy and chichi came up with rami for a quick visit because saggy is always in town for .00000000003 seconds (he lives in la). the four of us have been best friends since the first day of college and always have the BEST time in the world. we looked at old pictures from when we were 17, it was so fun. then auntie farah came up for a quick visit. she was in chicago interviewing for residency programs and had enough time to squeeze in a short visit. she just got married a couple months ago! then finally, on the same day, uncle brad, aunt gabby, aunt bethany, and nurr maushi came to visit. keya slept for the first couple hours but then she hung out and snuggled up on everyone. we drank some spotted cow and chilled for a few hours - it was so good to see them! nurr cried like 93854058 times - and no its not pregnancy hormones (shes due in may with gulab), its bc thats what she does usually. cries. dummy.

-keya: um hi...im the one who cant hold up my own head yet. IS ANYONE PAYING ANY ATTENTION TO ME???

-rowan: "um, wait. i think this is my bear outfit. what is this cousin thing anyway? i dont get it"

-rowan: "i wanna see! i wanna see! what is it??"

we had a lovely thanksgiving at my inlaws house with all the ashley's. keya got to meet cousin rowan. they had a great time wearing matching outfits, doing eachothers hair, and drinking (milk). they partied their turkey butts off! we ate a lot of yummy food and relaxed. cousin jack gave me parenting advice (hes 6) and uncle scott gave us a gorgeous framed ashley beer depot jersey. its amazing!

this week was a long one. keya had a new trick up her sleeve and decided to sleep all wack for 3 days straight. just when i was trying to find the return label to ship her back to whereever she came from, she started sleeping normal again. thank goodness. we decided to kick her booty out of the snugglenest. see ya kid, you are out. her weird et phone home sounds and manly grunting were NOT working out for us. so now she is 2.5 feet away in the pack and play. baby steps. i felt super guilty but quickly got over it when i actually got some sleep. at some point jakey sensed (or figured out when i tearfully said i was moving to ohio to live with my parents) that i was tired and frustrated and surprised me with a massage! it was just what i needed. the massage chick said that she had never seen so many knots. awesome. after the massage, jake and i actually went on our first date since the kid. it went like this:

jake: silence
me: yawn, this is nice.
jake: sigh. i know.
me: i miss the baby
jake: i wonder what shes doing

we got to the restaurant (kirches on lake como, os)and were surprised by a highschool orchestra that was serenading all the patrons. we were like, omg this is so romantic. we got seated in a separate area and we were like omg this is so romantic. then 10 kids walked over to our table and started playing for us. we were like omg this is so romantic. we clapped as they walked away and were about to open the wine list so we could finally relax when...more kids came. and played. and then they walked away. and then more kids came. and played. IT WENT ON FOR A FREAKING HOUR. at one point, they were on their knees singing to us. 6 INCHES AWAY FROM OUR TABLE. they were good, but seriously? an hour? i wanted to walk out, but they had us barracaded and quarentined in this separate area. it was horrible. i mean, i seriously was super stressed out. i felt forced to smile at all these kids and i was too scared to eat my bread bc i thought they might judge me. what if i got something on my face? do i look skinny? i hope they dont notice my outfit is from target. it was horrible.

we quickly made up for it though by one spoon of the lobster bisque. delish.

today we went to cousin joel and cindys house for ellens 2 year old bd party. keya behaved for the most part, except for when we tried to put on a hat on her small head and she freaked the freak out. cindy made a yummy cake, and it was fun to hang out with family. then we went to steins and got a fake xmas tree. keya was SUPER excited...until we tried to put her hat on again. she is crazy.

now, she is upstairs sleeping while we are downstairs. this is the first time we have done that. i am slightly freaking out and have the monitor one inch from my face in case she makes a single sound. maybe i should check on her? what if she fell out? what if she crawled out? sigh. motherhood is stressful.

today is my awesome mother in law's birthday. she is such a nice person, an wonderful cook, and very fashionable. andddd on top of that, she has a ridiculously amazing body. we got to see her today at ellens birthday party and we will get to see her a lot this week because thanksgiving is coming up. yay! happy birthday to keyas grandma!

-keya: THIS IS THE WORST!

baby keya is one month old already. so crazy. a small human being has totally ruled our lives since the day she was born, but we wouldnt trade it for anything! we are officially over the "what the heck are we doing" phase and more into the "ok, this baby is for real". shes my little dumboface baby and shes so sweet and so cute and is such a baby diva. i loooove her.
