we recently got back from our trip to visit my sister in atlanta and to attend kevin's wedding in savannah. it was fun, but i did realize that my family is like a travelling circus. and not like an organized circus, but a chaotic circus filled with laughing, yelling, constantly hungry and cranky (not the baby), and then there is a cute fatcheeked small human who gets more attention that any baby ive ever seen. i thought the mexicans loved her, i thought the vegas drunkards loved her, but boy, do georgians love kay.

so we got there on weds, after almost missing our flight bc im an idiot and didnt realize what time our flight was. we ran to our gate, child in tow, forgetting to pick up bottled water for her formula, and not eating a darn thing. the bald man next to us refused to switch from the aisle to the window seat even though we told him that we would be getting up 93083 times. so we switched seats with someone else after jake yelled that bald man wasnt cooperating. the whole flight breathed a sigh of relief once we switched and then keya proceeded to tap baldie, who was now in front of us, the entire flight. i was so proud.

we get to the hotel, greeted by my overly excited parents, a "crappy" hour, and my sister who was anxiously waiting to show us da atl. we left the kid with my parents, went to anticos for pizza which was rull good, and then went bar hopping. this was the first real night that jake and i got to go out together and enjoy an evening w/o worrying about rushing home. so we had fun. we got to meet all of my sisters friends whose nicknames i cant even remember now. the next day, the power was out at the hotel which was awesome bc we were on the 7th floor, so the circus was in full force for a while. we took the stairs, headed to my sister and minis apartment and keya went swimming. she loved it and i liked it bc i got to actually lay out. then my parents took her for the rest of the day/night and we went to atlantic station in search of a pair of shoes for me (shocking), then drove around atl, got to see rollins (emory) where my sister and mini are getting their mph, and then it went from sunny and 100 degs to complete darkness and pouring rain and tornado winds (a tornado did hit atlanta so i am not exaggerating). that didnt stop us from eating outside and proceeding to sweetwater brewery where we drank 6 draft beers for 8 dollars total. what?? it was amazing until the power went out due to said tornado winds and going to the bathroom was real awkward. the tornado winds still didnt stop us and we went to vortex for burgers where the power went out again. then we went back to the hotel and were up all night scared bc the wind was howling and jack and i were coming up an escape plan with the baby. it was scurry.

ok ok so the next day we gathered our stuff, checked out of the hotel, and headed to savannah. it was a 4 hour drive and we only had to stop once and not even bc of the baby but bc we were hungry (shocking). we got into savannah, jake, keya, and i had a family nap and then we headed off to meet jakes friends at lady & sons - the paula deen restaurant. it wasnt as good as i would have thought, but it was a super fun night seeing all those guys and their wives and then meeting friends at the pre wedding cocktail hour. saturday was the day of the wedding and it was our FIRST NIGHT AWAY FROM THE BABY EVER. OOOOOOH. we woke up, took keya swimming, then got ready and headed to the wedding which thankfully was air conditioned. then we went to the westin which was where we were staying and where the reception was. i proceeded to have a sandwich fall on me and my dress and still eat it (45 minutes before dinner - why wouldnt i order a sandwich); introduce keya to the guys; get called a puerto rican by jakes friend; fix a bloody knee bc i declared that "im indian, im a doctor"; unsucessfully tried to get jake off the stage during proud mary; show some random ladies my spanx in the bathroom; and sleep on a fold out double bed because the westin f'd up and gave us the hospitality suite instead of a real room. HOLLER.

the next day we woke up with a headache. we made a fuss about the fact that we didnt sleep in a real room, and then very slowly walked back to the car. somehow we acquired benjamin dohmen at this point and i wanted to kill myself (hi benny). we went back to the hotel, and then immediately got ready for tybee island. by get ready i mean, not pack a damn thing. NO CHAIRS, ONE TOWEL FOR 8 PEOPLE, ONE FOB BLANKET, 1 SMALL TUBE OF SUNSCREEN, NO FOOD, NO WATER, 2 BEERS, AND THATS IT. WTF?? it took us an hour to get there, we found parking, and walked to the beach. the travelling circus was A FAIL. we looked around, sat on our clothes for 10 minutes, touched the ocean with our toes, managed to get a sunburn, complained a lot, got stared at because people probably thought we were actually like the worst tourists ever, and then left. we were there for literally maybe 22 minutes and half of that was walking to and from the car. it was so stupid. the only person who liked it was keya. seriously. it was the most idiotic thing ever. we get back to the overheated cars, drive back to savannah depressed and annoyed that we wasted the day, and we were starving. half of the circus went to mcdonalds where they got yelled at by the employees. my sister started a fight with the drink person. who fights with a mcdonalds employee in the SOUTH. HELLO. SHE MIGHT LYNCH YOU IDIOT. ok so then we go swimming, keya had a fan club as usual, and then we were all dying and tired. the next day we drove back, dying and tired, my parents babysat for the last time so we could go see hangover2, and that was that. we flew home the next day, i lost my voice, jake and i could barely move, and it actually felt like we got back from spring break.

so that was the trip. it was fun, we got to do a lot of stuff without the baby, the grandparents enjoyed spending lots of time with her, and i actually fit into the dress i had bought to wear for this wedding. spanx helped, but it did fit. now we can start summer. holla back atchu gurl.

if you have actually read all the way to this point, you are an idiot.
